Albums Of The Year
So I’ve noticed all the big magazines are starting to put out their “Album Of The Year” lists just now. So in no particular order - here are the ones that came to me:
- Timbaland Presents Shock Value - Timbaland
- Overpowered - Roisin Murphy
- X - Kylie Minogue
- Back To Black - Amy Winehouse (ACCORDING to most Album Of The Year lists this counts - even though I’m sure it came out last year. Shrugs)
- Cities - Anberlin
- Hey Eugene! - Pink Martini
- The Great Unwanted - Lucky Soul
- The Needles, The Space - Straylight Run
- Blackout - Britney Spears (I never, ever thought I’d say this but I love it)
Honourable mentions:
- I Created Disco - Calvin Harris
- Neon Bible - Arcade Fire (it fits an acquired mood so I haven’t listened to it THAT much, but when you do listen - it’s amazing for what it is)
Can’t think of much more. I’ve listened to a lot of older music this year - particularly disco stuff and I’m now REALLY getting into Motown. Who knows what next year will bring?
