So, like many, I was looking forward to the Group C matches. For those not into football they are basically the matches with good teams and not shit ones. The France/Romania game was basically shit but the Holland/Italy one was simply amazing.

I’d decided on Saturday I’d support Holland for the following reasons:

• Van Der Sar looks like my ex-nextdoor neighbour.
• Van Nistelrooy used to be God until he moved to Real Madrid.
• Van Bronckhorst is fit/has the best name ever.
• They wear bright orange.
• I’ve always took a slight interest in the Holland team.

I actually didn’t think they’d get out of this group but I was determined to support them anyway.

They were fucking brilliant.

• Van Bronckhorst = God.
• Sneijder = God.
• Van der Vaart = God.
• Boulahrouz = God.
• Van Nistelrooy = God.
• The whole team = God.

Nah, seriously they played really well. And Italy weren’t even playing that badly to be honest.

I fully expect them to overcome France and Romania in the remaining stages of this group. Come on the Holland.
