Burnout Paradise on Playstation 3 and XBOX 360
Burnout Paradise is probably the best racing game I have ever played. And I mean that literally. I loved the original and Takedown but Paradise is literally on another level than mentioned games.
Essentially Paradise is the same game as previous iterations: offering tons of high speed races, crashes, stunt runs, big airs and just general fun. What makes it different from previous iterations is it’s “sandbox” style gameplay which allows you to travel Paradise City as you see fit and take part in challenges when you’re ready. There is no emphasis on order you just play when you’re ready.
There are tons of stuff to find and unlock in the city: short cuts, billboards, jumps, etc. In fact the only thing that lets Burnout Paradise down is because of it’s sandbox style gameplay the races have no set route (you can take the route through the city you think fastest) which makes them unneccessarily hard for newbies who have no idea where to go.
Perhaps Burnout 6 will perfect the formula?
9/10.
